His murders have never been solved, and he became the center of a personality cult of crime.
The investigation and pursuit of the infamous 'Zodiac' is not the pursuit of a serial killer. To put a face and name on him is not enough. Something far more complex was involved in the crime spree than the motives of a thrill-seeking sex killer.
